Flipkart’s Big Billion Day & and Amazon’s Great Indian Festival Sales are officially over.

Have you ever heard something called Post Purchase Dissonance?
It is the feeling that a customer goes through after he has already bought the product seeking answers to random questions in his mind – Did he crack the right deal? Did he get value for money? Did he miss or overlook better options?

This festive sales complete customer delight is not only cracking a great deal but also getting the feeling that one took the right call.

Evaluating all the options is impossible for a customer so there will be some element of dissonance always. But what can be really assuring for a customer who made a purchase during the festive sale is not only did he buy the product at a low price but also the price of the product shot up after the sale was over.

A great sense of satisfaction kicks in if the price of the product has shot up after the sale. Though this doesn’t take away all the intensity of the Post Purchase DissonanceĀ but certainly reduces it to a large extent.

There would be a cohort of customers who would keep revisiting their order history for the next few days to check the current price of the product they bought during the sale to bring down their anxiety level.

Have you ever done this post-purchase? Comment and let me know what you found. Did it reduce your post-purchase dissonance or increase it further šŸ™‚
